This was really the first year of breeding for 06 Book 6062 Sil C. His brother 06 Book 6061 has been one of my better breeders the last two years, but last year I only had room to use one of them. Obviously, I think a lot of 6062 or I would not have mated it to Dave Hunsicker's Black Hen. I didn't want to send this pigeons out, but as I explained on the home page, I needed a pigeon that was old enought to stand the heat. I have five children from this hen in the breeding loft from last year, and all of them are at or near the top of the breeding loft, especially the three black spreads. What makes giving this pigeon up is that this is the last breeding year for the Black Hen before she goes back to Dave. This blood has had a significant impact on Dave Hunsicker's loft as well. See more about the Silver and 737 blood in the discription for 08 Book 8829.

(Please note that prior to shipping I called this pigeon a hen, but when I was shipping it, I thought it was a little bigger than the other hens out of the pair. Henry confirmed my thoughts tonight. He said that it was fighting with the cocks and chasing the hens. All of this and only a couple hours after they arrived. You can't keep a good man down...now that I know he is a man). This is one of the Double Doubles. They are extremely inbred, as can be seen in the pedigree. I love the parents to this cock and her sister, 08 Book 8821. I have graded many thousands of pigeons, and while a few still maintained their vitality through the first generation of inbreeding, I have never seen anything quite like these. These pigeons are ready for an outcross to another family, and I am sure that they will show their worth in very short order. Two pigeons of this inbreeding and quality could carry a breeding loft for ten years!

Since he hatched, the U cock has always been my favorite. He is the pigeon that sold me on the Horemans in the first place. He has been a very consistent breeder for me, and last year he bred the Tobacco Valley One Loft Race average speed winner by 28 minutes. 8822's mother, 977, is one of my best two or three breeding hens. Again, this is a Double Double and it is very ready for outcrossing."

I have let very few of the children of the Super Cock out of my loft, so this is a rare opportunity to own something out of him. Although small, this hen has an excellent body and a terrfic eye. Her mother, 973, is almost like money in the bank, and this has been a very good year for her with several different cocks.

Ed's Foundation cock, 80 FVC 2434, produced two great sons (1192, and 737) with two different hens. A third son 91 FVC 4735 produced 98 FVC 611, which founded the super racing Silver line. 611 and his son were sold to a loft in Mexico for $15,000. The son that I own, Silver Streak, has bred two - 400 mile winners. A daughter is breeding very well for Gary Stone in Ohio. Still another daughter was the points champion in the FVC for Ed Lorenz, and she has also had some excellent breeding success. My hen out of the pair, Quicksilver, has produced several breeders, most notably 6061, which I consider amongst my very best. Finally, what we call the 39 cock from this pair was a fantastic flyer, and he has produced a number of good pigeons. One of his sons went to China last year and has already bred a 7th place against 32,000 pigeons. The Silver line has proven to do extremely well when mated in with the 737 bloodlines of the Horemans family. The 737 cock won a very big 500 mile race with a lot of money on the line. He later proved to be a very good breeder, and whenever you hear yellow eyes mentioned in the Horemans family, they all come down from him. His daughter who happens to be called the Yellow Eyed Hen, was mated to Silver Streak when he bred the two 400 mile winners. The year the Yellow Eyed Hen's daughter 95 FVC 2962 and her son 05 FVC 2963 were mated to Silver Streak and Quicksilver in an attempt to take advantage of this combination of bloodlines, and with excellent results. The above pigeon 8829 is out of Silver Streak and 95 FVC 2962. This is an excellent opportunity to own some of these very hot bloodlines!
